Get to know me!
I just knew my little town of Selma, CA, wouldn't provide everything I needed. There's a big world out there after all. I moved to Fresno, followed by Walnut Creek, back to Fresno, then off to Los Angeles.
After living in L.A. for several years and performing in several bands, with no luck, I began to question my true direction in life. I knew I wanted to be creative, but also didn't want to be a starving artist. I spend countless hours doing personality quizzes and taking note of my strengths and weaknesses. I applied for L.A. Arts Institute only to be told it would cost me well over $125,000 to get a degree in Interactive Media Design. OK, now what? I searched for plan B.
Plan B was to find successful people with money and try to learn from them. I got a job at a bank as a business banker. Seemed logical at the time anyway. And guess what? It was a solid move. Not only did I further feed my already present entrepreneurial spirit, but I learned a whole lota valuable knowledge about systems that I still use today.
My, then, girlfriend's father became ill and her family owned factories in China. Her mother had to quit working to take care of the father, so my girlfriend was pressured to go to China to help with the family business. We'd been together for 3 years already and I was forced to make a bold move. I decided to quit my job and move with her. Now was my chance to put my entrepreneurial passions to the test.
After building up an English training business for factory owners and upper management, I found myself, not only so busy that I had to start bringing on new teachers, but I also found myself realizing that I wasn't passionate about the business. Lucky for me, I found a small company to buy all my contracts and the training materials I had made.
I dabbled in Import/Export for a while, but when 2008 hit and our biggest client filed bankruptcy, I decided to move back to the US hoping for a fresh start. Instead, I saw my savings account dwindling fast, all my friends and family with jobs were getting paid less than they used to get paid and I make the quick move to go back to China. After a few years of struggling to get things going, I connected up with a friend that was running a small, but successful restaurant. Wow, now this was something I could get into.
I later started my own restaurants and was pretty successful at it. Those systems I learned as a banker were useful, time and time again. Fast forward several years. My now, wife and I decided we'd been together long enough and we weren't getting any younger. If we were going to have a child, now was the time.
We now have a beautiful daughter that is so awesome & sweet, that I sometimes wonder why I didn't want to have kids earlier. However; it was also time to think about moving back to the US so our daughter could go to school in America. I exited all businesses in China, studied and passed the PMP (Project Management Professional) exam, got certified and relocated to where my family had migrated to, Las Vegas, NV.
Low and behold, the 2020 COVID pandemic hits and it became clear that getting a job wasn't in the cards. I decided to go into Plan B; a plan my wife and I had talked about at length, but just wasn't possible in China...Real Estate.
Follow along with my journey to explore and conquer real estate as an investor as well as my future entrepreneurial endeavors. I'm always looking to connect with other like-minded people to join me on this journey; those with a passion for not only real estate and business, but personal growth by continually seeking improvement of body, mind and spirit.
As mentioned above, my pursuit for growth in body, mind and spirit is truly what drives me. I want to be great father, husband, entrepreneur and servant of God and others.
Mind: Continual learning - I am an avid reader, averaging 2 books per month not including the hours spent researching online daily.
Body: Fitness - I am passionate about human anatomy, physiology and it's mechanics and like to exercise or do physical activities frequently. I also absolutely love cooking, allowing me to not only eat fantastic foods (in my humble opinion of course), but also healthy foods. Junk food in moderation ;-)
Spirit: I found long ago that business is not only a good way to make a good living for my family, but is also incredibly creative. And I need that. You are always coming across problems that need creative solutions. I love music, it is food for the soul. I also spend time reading my bible and working on my relationship with God. I'm far from perfect and understand I never will be. I believe my faith keeps me focused on the true goals of life; being a good father, a good husband, serving others and providing value.
I love God, my daughter, my wife, my family, music, creativity, helping people and growing my business.
