Without Losing Their Soul
I’m JD Bock — 2x Exit Entrepreneur, Systems Architect, and faith-driven leader.
I build Founder Execution Engineering systems that turn decisions into outcomes through ownership, rhythm, and enforcement loops that hold under pressure.
Because scaling shouldn’t mean sacrificing what matters.
This isn’t a pitch.
It’s my story and what I stand for.
Selma, CA.
A small town with smaller dreams.
It’s where I started, and where I realized early on I wasn’t wired for average because I felt called to build something more.
I chased creativity first, moved to L.A., played in bands, and pursued the dream until reality hit.
That’s when I made the first of many pivots, trading the starving-artist path for becoming a serious student.
I got into banking and started studying successful people while studying business in college.
I learned how systems create stability, and how most founders ignore them until it’s too late.
Then came China.
I’d been with the same woman for more than three years when her father got cancer.
Her mom had to quit work to take care of him, and the family asked her to move to China to help with their factories.
At the same time, my career was boxed in unless my boss moved on or I accepted a relocation that would’ve meant an hour commute each way.
So I followed my heart, quit my job, sold everything, and moved with her to China.
There, I built an education company from scratch, scaled it, and sold it.
I tried import/export and got punched in the mouth by 2008.
Sadly, the relationship didn’t work out in the end, but we’re still friends.
Then I built and ran restaurants and bars.
Late nights and fast cash, and the deeper I went the more it drained me—physically, morally, relationally, emotionally.
I’d been with my now-wife for years and we were dreaming about starting a family. I knew this lifestyle wouldn’t support that dream.
I wasn’t becoming the man I wanted to be, and I wasn’t building the kind of life I’d want my kids to inherit.
So I made the call most people avoid and walked away.
I sold the businesses for a life-changing amount, left the nightlife, and chose a different future rooted in stewardship, integrity, and legacy.
That’s when I got certified as a PMP (Project Management Professional), and later as an ASM (Agile Scrum Master).
I moved back to the U.S. with my daughter to get settled while we waited for my wife’s year-end bonus.
In some ways I’m lucky I left when I did because we barely missed COVID, but my wife got stuck in China with no flights for over a year.
Back in the U.S., I led multi-six-figure construction projects, flipped houses, built systems, and kept asking myself two questions.
What That Turned Into
This wasn’t just for me.
It was for my wife, my daughter, the teams I lead, and a life that works outside a spreadsheet.
That question became my mission.
Because what’s the point of building a business if you can’t take a walk with your daughter without checking Slack...
your calendar is full but your tank is empty...
and your “success” costs you the very people you’re trying to provide for?
I realized the real win isn’t just financial.
It’s building a life and a company you can be proud of.
Time for your family
Energy to serve others
A company that works even when you unplug
I started working with a partner I met while earning an honorary doctorate.
He had just launched his coaching business after a large exit, and over the next two years we worked with dozens of 7- and 8-figure companies to scale through systems.
Eventually it was clear I wanted a more scalable path—something that could help hundreds, even thousands of founders, and take advantage of what AI makes possible—so we parted ways on good terms and I built the next phase.
That’s the heart of Founder Execution Engineering.
I engineer the execution layer so decisions turn into outcomes without the founder carrying it all, and the business can grow without quietly taking everything from you.
Now, I help founders scale with clarity, structure, and freedom so they can enjoy what they’re building with the people who matter most.
I believe leadership is stewardship, and your business should reflect what you value.

If you’re still reading, I’ll assume a few things are true:
You’ve built something real
You’ve outpaced most of your peers
And deep down… you know there’s another level
That next level won’t come from grinding harder.
It comes from execution that holds when the week gets messy.
Here’s where I come in.
Through 9FOS and Founder Execution Engineering, I work with founders who are done carrying the business in their head.
They don’t need hand-holding.
They need decisions that turn into output.
They need clear ownership across the leadership team.
They need an operating rhythm that doesn’t collapse under pressure.
I help install that execution layer.
Then I train your leaders to own it.
The work runs through a repeatable operating model that shifts responsibility off the founder, tightens execution, and frees you to lead like a CEO.
You’ll like this if you want to do a few specific things.
Reclaim 10–15 hours/week without losing visibility
Align your team to mission and metrics
Build a business that scales without you in the weeds
If that sounds like you, we’ll get along.
I care about results.
I care about how you get them.
Family matters.
Stewardship matters.
Long-term impact matters more than a clean P&L story.
This work isn’t for spectators.
It’s for founders who are ready to stop reacting and start running the business on purpose.
